An Unforgettable Journey to Zhangjiajie’s Eternal Love
Hey, my dear foreign friends! Today, I’m excited to share with you my amazing experience at the Zhangjiajie Eternal Love Scenic Area.
I’ve been to Zhangjiajie three times. In the past, I went to the Zhangjiajie Scenic Spot to enjoy the natural scenery. But this time, I came to the Zhangjiajie Eternal Love Scenic Area to experience a different Zhangjiajie.
As soon as I approached the entrance of the scenic area, I was immediately impressed by its grandeur. There are two rows of totem poles with various birds and beasts on both sides, and in the center stands a huge statue of the Eternal Love Goddess, looking so elegant and charming. You can feel the strong local ethnic flavor and the integration of local folk – culture into the scenic area from the moment you catch a glimpse of it.
The Zhangjiajie Eternal Love Scenic Area is located in the Wulingyuan Scenic and Historic Interest Area. It has four major theme areas: Dayong Ancient Street, Taoyuan Secret Realm, Lovers’ Sea, and Rotten Apple Kids’ Paradise. Whether you’re young or old, and no matter it’s sunny or rainy, this place is perfect for a great time.
On Dayong Ancient Street, there are numerous intangible cultural heritage workshops. You can get up – close and personal with the charm of intangible cultural heritage here. In the Taoyuan Secret Realm, high – tech experience projects like the Ghost – Driving House and the Chiyou Storm Museum that can make wind and rain will bring you one surprise after another.
Lovers’ Sea is a great place for young people to relax. It has a lovers’ bridge, a lovers’ port, and a silver sandy beach. Rotten Apple Kids’ Paradise is a heaven for families. It offers various parent – child amusement facilities such as the Jungle Adventure, the carousel, the naughty castle, and bumper cars. There’s also a Museum of Along the River During the Qingming Festival, where the whole family can have a blast together.
The scenic area covers an area of 146.9 mu. It’s located in Baihuazhou, Suoxi Valley Street, Wulingyuan. It faces the Zhangqing Highway to the south and leans on the Suoxi River to the north. It’s only about a 5 – minute drive from the core scenic area of Wulingyuan, Baofeng Lake, and Huanglongdong Scenic Area. Its geographical location is truly excellent!
This scenic area combines the natural beauty of Zhangjiajie and is deeply rooted in the local culture. While appreciating the magical beauty of Zhangjiajie, you can also feel the primitive, mysterious, and humanistic beauty of ancient and modern Zhangjiajie.
Besides the various amusement projects, the delicious food in the scenic area is also a big draw. Even a simple bowl of cold noodles can leave you with a long – lasting aftertaste.
Before entering the scenic area, remember to pick up a performance schedule at the tourist hall. The highlight of the Zhangjiajie Eternal Love Scenic Area is the performances at different times. Each show is extremely wonderful. The performance schedule of the scenic area is adjusted according to the number of shows of the Zhangjiajie Eternal Love performance every day. Then, I went to watch the theater performance of Zhangjiajie Eternal Love.
The performance in the scenic area uses various high – tech means such as VR and AR, allowing Chinese and foreign tourists to travel through thousands of years of time. The large – scale song and dance performance “Zhangjiajie Eternal Love” is in perfect harmony with the strange mountains and waters of Zhangjiajie.
The performance tells the past and present of Zhangjiajie in a three – dimensional space with a dreamy stage effect. It takes the audience into a cultural event and gives them a spiritual baptism.
Let me introduce the content of the performance to you:
– Prelude: The Changes of the World
– Wulingyuan in Zhangjiajie is located at 30° north latitude. About 380 million years ago, a violent orogeny occurred here. The plate uplifted and the water eroded, resulting in the emergence of numerous strange peaks. These three thousand peaks in Zhangjiajie became the ark for the birth of civilization, where humans multiplied and created the splendid Dayong civilization.
– Act One: The Fairyland of Wuling
– As the ancient poem goes, “In spring, the peach – blossom – scented water is everywhere. It’s hard to find the source of this fairyland.” Wulingyuan in Zhangjiajie is said to be the prototype of the “Peach Blossom Spring” described by the famous Eastern Jin poet Tao Yuanming. With the clear water, fragrant flowers, and beautiful people, we can enter this fairyland of Wuling, listen to the sound of water, and search for the fragrance of flowers.
– Act Two: The Legend of Tianzi Mountain
– There’s a saying that “Once you’ve seen the face of Tianzi, you won’t want to see other mountains.” The famous Tianzi Mountain in Zhangjiajie is related to a Tujia folk legend. It’s said that during the late Yuan and early Ming Dynasties, due to the tyranny of the court, the people were living in great misery. To resist the oppression, Xiang Dakun, the leader of the Tujia people, led the Tujia men to fight bravely.
– Act Three: The Stories of the Small Town
– In the small town of western Hunan described by Shen Congwen, people live with the stream during the day and sleep with the fireflies at night. A river of spring water, a boat song, a glance, and endless expectations. This is a beautiful poem of western Hunan.
– Act Four: The Mulberry Trees
– Zhangjiajie is a red – hot land. It’s the hometown of Marshal He Long and the departure place of the Second Front Army of the Red Army on the Long March. In the era of war, the men in western Hunan stepped forward one after another and embarked on the revolutionary journey. The farewells under the mulberry trees have become the unforgettable memories of the women in western Hunan.
– Epilogue: Love in Western Hunan
– The women in western Hunan are affectionate, and heroes emerge in large numbers. Beautiful stories gather here, and heroic anthems are sung here. Perseverance, responsibility, great love, and dedication have influenced generations of Zhangjiajie people. This is Zhangjiajie, a beautiful world full of love and mystery.

You can enjoy the uncanny workmanship of nature, the colorful underwater world, the dreamy Wuling Fairyland, and the spectacular scene of thousands of tons of flood pouring down in an instant. There are karst landforms, Yadan landforms, lava landforms, and Danxia landforms in many places around the world. But there’s only one place with Zhangjiajie landforms, and that’s Zhangjiajie. The performance brings this magnificent Zhangjiajie landform scenery onto the stage, sings the time – crossing legend of the Xiaoxiang region in a three – dimensional and mysterious space, and brings the ancient and mysterious western Hunan culture into our view, helping us to find the “Peach Blossom Spring” in our hearts.
The “Zhangjiajie Eternal Love” performance is so beautiful and moving! I really wish I could have more experiences like this at the Zhangjiajie Eternal Love Scenic Area and watch more of these wonderful performances.
